Stand Up Paddle Surfing
An ancient form of surfing that has seen a recent revival, practiced at one time by the beach boys of Waikiki and popular with watermen as an alternative way to ride the surf.
Stand Up Paddle Surfing (SUP) is also known as Stand Up Paddle boarding and basically involves getting up to your feet on a larger than normal surfboard and paddling using a one bladed paddle. SUP resurged at the beginning of this century, standing up and paddling out is a totally new experience and a great means of staying in shape.
It adds a new dimension to surfing skills, such as improving balance, core strength and will mean that your time on the water can be greatly increased. Great for all abilities and a fantastic alternative to surfing in calm conditions.
